Honey, ginger, vitamin C, etc for company

This is my version of the absentee notes you gave to teachers in school, stapled with a medical certificate and signed off by your parents to show that yes, you really were propped up in bed, not feeling well at all. Hence the lack of updates here. It’s totally my fault, ‘cos only last week, […]

On FBI 94.5FM

On Weekend Lunch, the FBI radio show presented by the amazing Anna Burns, today. Talking about how to keep cool in this crazy heat. Ice cubes seem to be key.

Time consuming

The last four months have been brain-blitzing. Work got a little wild and overwhelming and days ended faster than I thought possible. Now, panic doesn’t set the metronomic beat of life as much – things have slowed down to a breathe-easy pace. Which is nice. It means not rushing home, scarfing down cold takeaway and […]

Bentley Restaurant and Bar, Surry Hills

Sometimes a meal out can be so good you want to laser it into your memory so you can remember it forever. In fact, my first visit to Bentley Restaurant and Bar made my brain light up so much that it inspired me to start a food blog, ensuring that I’d have some digital keepsake […]

Santa Swag

These are just a few things that were created and sent Santa-ward. Up top are some marbled chocolates that I made by melting lots of chocolates down and then setting them in moulds and causing a hell of a mess in the kitchen. This jar of goodness was given to me by Tash, a super-foodie […]

In the bag

This is a little appetiser before I attack (forks and all) my food blog backlog. In the last week or so, I’ve hit the tables of Two Good Eggs, Astral and A Tavola. On the weekend, I’ll be eating up every exquisite crumb from the Le Notre afternoon tea offered at the Sofitel Wentworth (scene […]

About

Hi, I'm Lee Tran Lam. When not blogging with my mouth full, I'm usually writing, presenting Local Fidelity on FBi radio, making zines, producing podcasts or continually breaking promises about how I really am gonna get through my book pile one day.

All the good pictures on this blog are by photography ace (and patient boyfriend), Will Reichelt, (all the dodgy ones can be credited to me)!

The lovely banner is by friend and ultra-talented illustrator Grace Lee.

This site redesign was made possible by the next-level generosity and expertise of Daniel Boud, whose code-tinkering ways are only outranked by his seriously inspired way with a camera.

You can read more about my co-conspirators here.

This is a blog I do for pure fun and zero influence – there's no sponsorship, sneaky advertorial or advertising. I pay for all the food mentioned, 'cos it seems the ethical thing to do.

About

This is a blog about eating and drinking in Sydney, Australia (with the odd cross-border or off-topic detour). BYO appetite.
